Boat & yacht rental conditions in Barcelona

Here are the booking terms for boat hire in Barcelona (sailing yacht, catamaran or motor yacht, with or without a skipper) — no small print. If anything isn't clear, message us and we'll help.

• Security deposit: refundable deposit depending on the boat and the specific terms.
• Fuel: charged by consumption (depending on the boat/service booked).
• Cancellations: fees due to the boat being blocked and rescheduling if there’s availability.

Booking and payment for your boat rental

• To confirm the booking, we request an initial payment that blocks the boat for your dates.
• The remaining balance is paid before boarding, following the agreed schedule (season and charter type).
• For last-minute bookings or peak dates, we may require full payment to secure availability.

In high season or on special dates, full payment may be requested to keep the boat reserved exclusively for you.

Discounts and offers on boat hire

Promotions can't be combined. If more than one offer applies to the same booking, we'll apply the one that benefits you most. Discounts may vary depending on season, duration and boat type.

• 5% for 2 weeks.
• 10% for 3 weeks.
• 5% for returning customers.
• There may also be early-bird or weekly-charter promos (subject to availability).

Boarding and check-out times for the charter

• Day charter: usually 10:00 to 18:00 (depending on the season).
• Half-day charter: morning or afternoon (time to be confirmed).
• Weekly charter: check-in/check-out depends on the base marina and the plan.

Returning outside the agreed time may involve charges for staff, moorings and/or loss of availability for the next client.

Extras: skipper, final cleaning and add-ons

These extras are subject to availability:

• Skipper €190 / 4 hours + meals (low & mid season).
• Skipper €290 / day + meals (low & mid season).
• Skipper €290 / day + meals (high & peak season).
• Final cleaning: depending on length (between €60 and €240).
• Bed linen & towels: €20 per person.
• Outboard engine for the dinghy: €100 / charter.

Cancellations and date changes for your charter

Once a booking is confirmed, the boat is blocked for other requests. That's why these terms apply — they're standard in the private charter sector:

Cancellation by the customer

• More than 30 days before boarding: 50% of the rental price.
• Within 30 days before boarding: 100% of the rental price.

The booking deposit is refundable up to a maximum of 50% according to the timeframes above. In cases of force majeure, the same limits apply.

Date change (booking amendment)

Changing dates is treated as a new booking and is subject to these fees:

• 31 days or more before: 25% fee.
• 30 days before: 50% fee.
• 72 hours before: 100% fee.

What's included and what's not included

Included

Published prices include:

• VAT.
• All-risk insurance with a deductible.
• Mooring, water and electricity at the base marina.
• Butane gas.
• Full equipment as per the description and inventory.

Not included

Published prices do not include:

• Fuel.
• Mooring outside the base marina.
• Provisions/food & drinks.
• Bed linen and towels (if not booked).
• Dinghy engine (if not booked).

Security deposit, fuel and liability for damage

At boarding, the client provides the security deposit stated in the Special Conditions. It is returned at the end of the charter once the boat has been checked.

The boat must be returned with a full fuel tank or by paying for the fuel used, plus €60 for the refuelling service.

The client is responsible for damage, loss, breakdowns and late return. In those cases, BDA Sailing Experience may retain the deposit to cover material damage and losses (including loss of earnings).

General conditions for sailing yacht, motor yacht or catamaran rental

The client confirms that the designated skipper has the required experience and the licence needed in Spain. If they don't, BDA Sailing Experience can provide a professional skipper for the charter days.

• Use the boat as a “good seaman”, following current regulations.
• Do not exceed the authorised number of people.
• Recreational use only. Sub-chartering or commercial activity is not allowed.
• Participation in races or sports competitions is not allowed.
• Sailing is limited to Spanish waters and the permitted area.
• Do not leave the boat moored or anchored with nobody on board in exposed bays or unprotected waters: this may be excluded from insurance.
• Do not operate under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and do not bring weapons or illegal substances on board.

Weather and safety

The departure may be cancelled if weather conditions compromise the safety of the crew, clients or the boat. In that case, we-ll try to offer a new date or an alternative, subject to availability.

Responsible use on board (WC and tanks)

To avoid blockages and breakdowns: don't flush paper, sanitary products, cotton pads, tissues or similar items, and don't touch the grey-water tank valves.

If a blockage occurs due to misuse during the charter, the client must pay €600. If payment is not made, the company may deduct it from the deposit or charge the card provided.
